Beyond the veils

“It is dark.”, she whispered softly.

“Indeed, the lights seem to be lacking.”, I replied somberly.

“I wish I can see what lies beyond.”, she snuggled closer.

Towards me.

“That was my greatest desire too!”, I remarked.

Surprised.

“Was?”, she whispered back.

Frowning.

“I am not of this world.”, I declared proudly.

“You’re dead?", she wriggled away.

From me.

“Not really. I am the wanderer.”, I nodded to myself.

Resigned.

“Ah I understand.”, she affirmed.

Smiling.

I took her cold cold hand and pulled her through the veils.
